Jens Dietrich
Jens is an Associate Professor at Victoria University where he trains Software Engineers. Before joining academia and moving to NZ in 2003 he worked as a consultant in Germany and Namibia. His research interests include static analysis and testing. This work is funded by Oracle and the National Science Challenge.
BigTech is using Static Analysis, and so should you!
Static analysis can complement testing. It has come a long way from simplistic code checkers which produce a lot of noise, but few actionable signals. However, there is a new generation of tools and new usage scenarios, and big tech is successfully using them. I will talk about those developments and outline what makes a good static analysis.
