We are postponing NZTestingConf 2021
Hi everyone,
We’re postponing NZTestingConf 2021.
TL;DR
It’s super important for us to have an in-person conference, as well as provide a safe environment for everyone, and it just won’t be possible with the current alert levels in New Zealand.
We’re going to postpone NZTestingConf until mid-2022 and will share the new date as soon as possible.
Why we’re having to do this?
We believe a conference is a place to interact and have fun! When we first announced the conference, we were in the good ol’ days at alert level 1 and with nothing to worry about. Since then, the whole country got hit by this new variant, and we had to do arrangements in our personal and professional lives. We were still hopeful we’d be able to go ahead as planned in November this year. Unfortunately, there are bigger things that we can’t control, and that’s something we have to respect. So that we can do our part to keep everyone safe!
Thank you for your ongoing support
Our go/no-go date was on the 5th of November and it required all of NZ to be at alert level 1. After the latest government announcement, we do not have enough information to ensure a clear decision without further inconvenience closer to the date of the conference.
New Zealand has to reach the 90% fully vaccinated target for the conference to happen, and that won’t happen by the 19th of November.
We understand you might have already bought tickets to Wellington, and we’re really sorry for that.
This extra time allows everyone to get fully vaccinated before the conference, and for our friends in Auckland to come out of lockdown. So we hope to see many familiar faces coming from all around NZ to attend NZTestingConf in person and safe!
Thank you for understanding
Sponsors - you have trusted us with your hard-earned money to organise an amazing conference and to support the growing testing community in New Zealand. We really appreciate it!
Speakers and panelists - thanks for your patience and understanding, you’re the stars of the conference
Everyone else - we haven’t seen this much support in a lifetime, it’s amazing how you could buy so many tickets for the very first edition. It means a lot to us, and we’re thrilled to make an awesome conference happen for you!
What’s next?
We’re going to communicate via email, LinkedIn and post on our website the new date for our conference.
We are working on rescheduling the season to a later date. We ask that ticket holders please hold on to your ticket until a rescheduled date has been set and we will be in touch with you directly about ticketing options as soon as we can. If the new rescheduled date is not suitable for you to attend, you will be entitled to a refund.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Stay safe!
